Whether getting laid off was inevitable or came as a complete shock, many people don't always know how to cope with being jobless. However, it's important to remember that losing your job can be looked at as an opportunity.
With that in mind, there are some tips recently laid-off job seekers should follow to help them stay focused and find a career they love, according to an article by the

First, you should
always think positive. You can look to music or motivational speech, books or blogs to help stay motivated.
"Web sites and the library are your best free bet," the article notes. "Many of these experts have studied human emotion and motivation and will have invaluable advice when you need it most."
Second,
find some appropriate clothes for job interviews and possible work situations. If you can't afford to buy retail, you can always opt for second-hand clothing from places like
Goodwill,
Salvation Army or
Dress for Success.
Third,
get online. Job seekers in today's world should register with social networking sites such as
LinkedIn and
Facebook to connect with former co-workers and bosses, friends and other networking connections. The Internet can be used to
search and apply for jobs, as well as research companies, salary data, industries careers and locations.
Fourth,
market yourself. You should have on handy business cards, resumes, a bio, references and samples of your work. You also can create an online version of your resume through free blog sites or services and include the Web address on your business card for easier access.
Fifth,
get out of the house. You can join an in-person networking group or just get together with friends or acquaintances to talk about possible job opportunities and the job market as a whole.
