Divya,

I will have a Operation Manager Position in Orlando, Florida but it will only last for three weeks. The current Project Manager needs to go on vacation but it has to be approved first.

Good morning Divya:

Thank you for the note. Unfortunately I have not conducted much business in the Dallas, TX area, but know it is a thriving market for HR among other professions. I would suggest to make sure you are aware of any trend changes that might of taken place while you were absent from the HR scene. Also make sure that you resume has been updated to fit the criterion of today's market. The old style of resumes: listing you professional objective has changed some. After speaking with some professionals that are educated in writing professional resumes they have advised me that the following areas should be included in today's resume:

Statement of Purpose: what you bring to the table and what you have done in the past ( short synopsis)

Education

Areas of Expertise

Key Strengths

Professional Experience

You can even include a section about your personal like - I.E. hobbies, personal interests, etc...

Of course if you have all of the above utilizing a good recruiter to locate the perfect job is not a bad idea. They charge the company a finders' fee to say to locate the best candidate. The recruiters like myself have many contacts and also have more time to research positions and candidates and make the match -vs- a corp. recruiter that might have 50 positions to search for ( no time and no incentive).

Anyways if you have a resume I would be more than happy to look it over and see if there is anything myself and our firm can do to assist in your search effort. You can send it to info@mckinleywatson.com

I hope this has helped some.

Best Regards,

HI Divya,

What you have done seems entirely reasonable. My best advice on job search is to get a book called "What color is your parachute," written by Richard Bolles. He updates it every year, so you should be able to get the 2008 version if you are buying. If you want to get it in the library, whatever edition they have will be fine. He has a helpful website on all aspects of job search. It is: www.jobsearchersbible.com. If you have any specific questions for me, I would invite u to email me (markf@mjfassociates.com) and we can arrange to talk, if you would like to call me. I wish you the best of luck in your job search. Mark Friedman
